What Is the TA Standard?

Last updated: 2026-08-28

Our measurement standard

TA — Total Activity — is Jarrah honey’s activity rating, measured by an independent laboratory batch by batch and printed on every jar. It reflects the activity of the honey’s naturally occurring hydrogen peroxide, expressed as a single number. Grades run from TA35 to TA55+, and a higher number means a higher measured activity level in that batch.

What the TA numbers mean

GradeWhat the number means
TA35Our everyday grade, independently verified at a Total Activity level of 35.
TA44A mid-range grade, verified at a Total Activity level of 44.
TA55+Our premium grade, verified at a Total Activity level of 55 or above.
LordOur rarest harvest — a name we give to only one crop.

Common questions

What does TA mean? +
TA stands for Total Activity. It is a single number that rates how active a batch of Jarrah honey is, based on independent laboratory testing of each harvest.
How is the TA of Jarrah honey measured? +
Every batch is sent to an independent laboratory, which measures the activity produced by the honey’s naturally occurring hydrogen peroxide. The result is the TA number shown on the jar.
Does a higher TA number mean a stronger honey? +
A higher TA means a higher measured activity level in that batch. It describes the honey’s tested activity, not a health outcome — choose the grade that suits your taste and budget.
